This weekend at a WI Walmart. Not naming the specific store to protect the innocent.

It is likely Purolator will take the FRAM shelf space, but I am curious on who is going to replace AC Delco as I have not found any conclusive information yet on a new long term manufacturer for AC Delco filters.

If I had to guess WIX is probably going to work with AC Delco again.

There was still a fair supply of AC Delco oil filters at the subject store. I understand they were produced by Champion Labs, which was part of Fram parent First Brands. I read Premium Guard bought the IP of these. MSN reported last week that local officials in Illinois were hopeful the Champion Labs facility would re-open, but also said it was "up in the air."

AC Delco is pretty much out of stock here along with most FRAM.

I know PG bought Champ but I don't think GM would have been waiting this long to find a new long term supplier, I could be wrong but I would think by now they already made agreements with some manufacturer.

They already have a Silver line made in PRC, a member here bought one, so that’s their source now. I never heard of it before but it must have been around as an economy choice.

Silver is what was their Advantage line, I don't believe GM would be stupid enough to use that as their main line but it is GM after all.

There isn’t much choice right now whether they are stupid or bright except what they have being made and delivered. They are functional filters that would have been tested to be a dealer part with a warranty.

The ones that were cut and posted on here look pretty well built. No worse than the blue ones.

I saw something similar at our Walmart, They did have some MC filters but not ones I use (FL-2127).
