Honestly... when someone uses that word so much I quit listening.

I use HDD magnets I remove for free. They work on the oil filter and have always stayed in place. I have also opened up the filters to see the dark solids they have captured. They are not enough to alter flow and hold a bit out of the oil so why not. I have not really liked the design of those that cover the filter as I like the fact that the exposed filter cools the oil a bit. I put them at the end and at the bottom when spun on, works in both places.

And if that magnet stays stuck in 1 place then no oil gets filtered where that magnet has created a blockage, thereby reducing the filters capacity to trap contaminants.
And honestly,if this was a big enough deal then I the filter would come with its own magnet incorporated into the filter itself, and not just dropped in the middle where it really is in the way.

How is the magnet going to choke off oil flow in the filter?

We were hit with a drive-by spamming. This guy's site had a filter magnet that you placed inside the filter for one-time use.
I think it cured cancer.

His spammy posts have since been deleted.

you should have seen it, it was huge and nearly blocked the entire outlet of the filter where the cleaned oil exits, apparently no engineers or people who graduated high school work at the company in the DESIGN department - lol
