Ive read that when on auto-rx youor supposed to use a good quality filter, aka Moblie1, purolator pureone. However, they are on the oil flow restrictive side... how important is flow then, when on auto rx? What about using fram extend guard, seesm to filter down to 10 microns and offers outstanding flow! or maybe even K&N? How about CFM oil filters, i called them, and they filter down to 7 microns! Not sure abut its flow though, expensive filter too! $100, then you have to buy refills. Any ideas?

It would depend on how dirty my engine was as to what filter I would choose. Given that you're only going to have it on there for 1500-2000 miles ..it's kinda hard to justify an expensive filter. If it's really sludged up you may have to change it a couple of times during all phases.
Filters and "flow" is an odd topic. Typically all filters flow exactly the same amount of oil. It's only the effort to push the oil that changes from one to another. Most times, it don't mean squat. Nada. Zip. Other times, rarely, it can make a difference.
I'd say that if you can get a nominal 10um filter in a full flow, you're doing pretty good.

Use a good filter to catch as much of the scum as possible, unless you don't mind it circulating around with the oil for those 1500-2000 miles. Many of the cheaper filters don't do an effective job at trapping all the comtaminates.

So, what would you personaly dub as a good filter? mobile!? Purolator pure one? Ive heard good things about motorcraft!!! 910 filter model fits my 95 plymouth neon. How about fram extend guard? Ive had my eye on that for quite some time now....

A lot of people just use the $2 SuperTech from Wal-Mart, which is perfectly fine since it isn't going to be in there long anyway. Otherwise I'd say use a Motorcraft if it's a Ford, AC if it's a GM, and NAPA Gold if it's anything else.
I used pureones for clean and Supertech on both my GTP and my bike. this time areound I am going to be using the stock japanese filter for clean and then an AA oil filter for rinse.
