I throw them in the metal scrap pile behind the railroad tie car ramps....
That’s pretty much verbatim to what I was told years ago.as long as you arent on septic.. if its city sewer you should be ok.
we have one thats open for 4 hours one day of the month 35 minutes away.In my rural NC county, the local transfer station is operated by Waste Management and it recycles used motor oil, oil filters and transmission fluid.
Lowes also takes batteries, shopping bags, etc. At least, the one near me does - just look for the bin inside the entrance near the service desk. I don't use them for oil filters but I have dropped off batteries.Home Depot takes batteries and I think a " Batteries Plus " store
Walmart took 5 filters I dropped off there
I dont think they gladly take oil filters ..... but they will . Depends on who's working .I take mine to Walmart when I take my oil.
I use to put them in the trash and the manager at Walmart asked me one time several years ago no filters? I said well I didn’t know you recycled them.
Just my $0.02
Better check with you local city works to see what they say.I also dump my antifreeze in the toilet.
May not be the case now ... check with your city works.I was always told coolant can safely be disposed in the sink drain.
Irresponsible dealership. No reason they can't dispose of them correctly.I have to admit I throw them in the trash. No place around here takes them to my knowledge. At the Toyota dealership we throw them away. The rest of our dealerships has a recycling thing that comes and picks them up. Just Toyota is across the street and doesn’t have access to a fork lift so they tell us to throw them away.
source on that pic?May not be the case now ... check with your city works.
It may vary city to city ... so people need to check with their city works. Google will show other information on flushing antifreeze down the sewer system or pouring down the sink.source on that pic?
At work, we have an oil filter dumpster and a special truck comes to empty it. Here is a video:
