Oil compatibility question

I have a 2000 LS1 Camaro that I run Mobil 1 10w30 in. The other night I stopped at a gas station and found that the car was a quart low and the only decent oil available was Castrol GTX 10-30. I was planning on changing the oil this weekend, and was wondering if there were any problems with running a mixture of these two oils for the interim.

No problem at all. Castrol GTX will mix just fine with synthetic oil.

i have heard that many like a 5w40 or 10w40 in those engines. this is just what i have heard. im not 100% certain on this. if you want to stick with m1 i think 4 qts of Mobil 1 10w30 and 2 qts of Mobil 1 15w50 make about a 10w40. there is also m1's new 5w40 t&s oil that a lot of people seem to like as an oil.
