Those gas stations make pennies for each gallon sold. Pennies. Big Oil gets the rest... after taxes (which are uy on the lower side.) and I hear gasoline gets the Road Tax, too.

Yeah when you think about the "annual harvest" the station barely makes enough to keep the lights on.

But it is aggravating the few weeks when the retail is well above wholesale. It makes you wish you could hold your breath.

My stash is pretty good, I topped off at a low spot.

American consumers are very short sighted, they don't see beyond tomorrow. If they can think few months ahead they should buy fuel efficient vehicles the last few months, when it was slow selling therefore had a good discount.

It would have to be free because we pay 72 cents per gallon tax.

It is only "over" if it goes to above $2/gallon pump price.

And to what do we owe this possible "increase?" A fake blizzard in NJ, and an ice storm?

A sand flea far ted in the desert somewhere in the middle east so everyone is now freaking out.

Still holding at the 6 cents over previous in NJ.

I pray they have not found a way to get it high again...

2010 to 2011 was BAD. Even 2012 was stupid high.

Stock as in wall street or stock as in prepper?

Friend is storing some in windshield wash jugs, it's the same plastic they make real gas cans from.

I bought shares of the ETF called BNO (Brent Crude) when oil was around $50. I don't expect to get rich, but I could afford to tie up the money for a couple of years and I believe the return will be better than bank interest - almost any return is.

If I sold right now I'd make a 10% gain after less than a month. I'm almost positive oil is going to go up again. History repeats itself over and over and over on this one.

The low price is now $1.87 in NJ.

From $1.69 to $1.87. Overnight.

Still is low.. if it stays...

Projections?

I put in 10 gallons at $1.92 local spot last night.

I can't remember when it was, maybe in the early-mid 2000s? Premium unleaded here went to almost $5.00 a gallon! People were doing "gas runs" all over the place. That seemed like the beginning of the end. Jobs started cutting hours, groceries went sky high, etc. I'm hoping these under $2.00 a gallon prices are here to stay.

I bet it will rise up to around $65 to $70 a barrel and stay there for a good spell.

My original intent was to keep the shares for up to two years, or until oil hit $100/barrel again. It is fully expected to reach that level, or higher. It's only a matter of time. Gas here went up 15 cents this week alone. Don't get used to this because it is a very transient condition.

There is some back room stuff going on at OPEC. They don't like the US fracking and Canadian oil-sands competing with their sales. $70 a barrel should do that.

Not to mention hurting Putin's oil exports.
