OK, I'm running CJ-4 15w40 Rotella in my 2004.5 Dodge Cummins and pushing 10k OCIs. I have 108k on the clock currently. I run a Mopar (rebadged Fleetguard) filter and an Amsoil EaBP100 bypass filter (bypass changed every other OCI).
I am awaiting bottles from Blackstone to complete a used oil analysis on this oil and, depending on how it looks, would like to possibly extend the OCI to 15k (or more).
If I decide to run extended intervals, would adding an oil additive (say halfway through the OCI) be beneficial?? And if so, what would be a good choice in oil additive?? I'm not familiar enough with the oil additives to know if there is a right/wrong additive to use in a diesel application???
Sorry if this sounds newbie-ish, but just figuring this out...I looked at some of the VSOT, SLOB, etc...
