OE Ford tailgate bushing E7TZ-99430B22-A 3 or 1?

I just bought a new bushing for my 2012 F150 tailgate at a local dealer. I was charged $20.05 for it. It has a bushing/washer in the bag that says E7TZ-99430B22-A

The bag says 3X after the part# and had been opened. I went online and it looks like there are some being sold that show 3 to the bag. I feel cheap and used...... Did I just pay the price for 3 bushing/washers, and only got one? I might have price shopped online before buying local. But I was having issues locating it online without a part #. I have used the dealer for parts in the past.

While you did pay retail, I don't think you got that hosed. Ford likes to put multiples of small parts in bags. Bolts/nuts are another one. Even though a vehicle might need 5, they'll bag them 4 to a bag, and they are sold individually. I've seen it with other manufacturers as well....I order a single thing and it comes in a small zip-lock with the part number hand written on the bag, because it came out of a factory labeled package containing multiples.

The linked page says sold in individual units so not really if you had to pay shipping.

Ford sends them to the dealer in bags which contain a quantity of 3, but they are billed individually.

Just like hardware, bolts and nuts, etc. They come in bags of a quantity but they are sold individually. Or in cases where they are special order, the customer gets sold the whole bag.

Also if we want to talk about dumb pack quantities, I present to you the Ford EOAZ-2149-B brake hose crush washer. They are sold in a pack of 7 which makes no sense whatsoever.

Pretty much. In theory 8 or 4 would make sense, but no 7 it is. Its a hot dog vs hot dog bun situation.

Yes this 3 pack set is sold for less than my out the door price I paid for 1 of the plastic pieces, and the washer. I would have been happy to pay the $12.87 for the third of the bag. I just thought over $20 for a third of a bag seemed excessive.

Is this hinge part on the leftside rear tailgate hinge supposed to have a plastic bushing that covers it? They told me at the dealer there was none. But I was also on the phone for ten minutes for him to finally find the the main part I was looking for. Thanks
