People expect a FREE old, leaky, hot tub to be delivered too, so just say whatever and move on.
Yes and also two decades ago before my wife and I moved out of NY to SC, Sprint even allowed you to chose your own area code, irrespective of where you lived/ So we chose an area code we planned on moving to.Wherever the phone was activated and the number was assigned is the area code you will see .
My area code is over 1,000 miles away from my current residence. The area code is 2 hrs away.
Some people just want to start off on the wrong foot.Yes I have family in Virginia, Arizona and Florida and they all have Massachusetts 617 exchanges and they show as a Massachusetts caller.
..... or teach their pets how to start off squarely on their head. Some people just want to start off on the wrong foot.![]()
This is an interesting topic. When I couldn't get a 215 area code (they change almost hourly--what's available), I selected a 312 area code. My wife said, aren't people going to think you're from Chicago? I actually agree it's meaningless, yet, I do think that when people become a new contact, they feel one has some affiliation with the area code, such as, yeah you live in the Phila. area now, but you're probably from Chicago having that area code. Just human nature. I did the same with my last new contact, she has a 302 area code. I figure at some time in her life, she probably lived in Delaware.Really means nothing for a cell phone nowadays. My son is in Germany and has a VA area code.
I'll say, and they're really out and about during the holidays.I’d brush it off. Rude people will always exist.
But it’s another reason why I don’t plan on getting on FB anytime soon.
