In my Paypal "wallet" (as they call it,the place where you can add and remove credit cards) it has a Visa listed that expires in 2020. Its' billing address is a house I lived at maybe 15-20 years ago. I've racked my brain trying to remember what that card is exactly. It only shows that it's a Visa, the last 4 digits, and expiration date. I ran my credit report and it's not on there. I've called all my old and present banks as well as Visa, and it doesn't seem to exist. Visa can't tell me which bank issued the credit card unless I provide them with the entire card number.

Anyone know how I can figure out where this card came from and what it is? I haven't charged anything in years and never use credit cards anymore.

Thanks in advance!

IIRC a credit card falls off your credit report in 7 or 10 years. Some issuers have ridiculous expiration dates so it's likely you had one a long time ago that you simply forgot about.

It may have also been something like a Visa prepaid credit card.

I'd just delete it from the account.

With an expiration date that far off on a card that you haven't seen in years, I'd agree with dparm that it was most likely a prepaid card or gift card.

The expiration date is odd. Most credit card companies use a 3 year expiration date as thats how long the physical card will be usable before it cracks.

As far as it being on your credit report, negative info comes off in 7 years. Positive stuff for open accounts can stay on for a lot longer. If its not on any of the 3 credit reports chances are it is a closed account.

I have card (regular CC) good until 2020...prepaid cards frequently are good LONGER than that. (I saw one recently good to 2023.)

Does it show a name attached to the card?

Nope doesn't show any name, just shows Visa********(then last four numbers) and ex date 2020.

Be aware of credit cards, since it came from Maritime Admiralty Law. It means water, as money is and you came to light by the water broke and your body is already listed in the stock market, since you have a birth certificate as a ship docked. You have to go to the court to play relationSHIP before a bench (in the water territory), that means bank, and youll gonna loose. Hahaha, that Mr. Russel Pine amuses me...

Beware
