How did you find out about the ADBV failure?
First, I noticed my oil light would stay on 1-2 sec longer than usual on start up. I unscrewed the filter and no oil poured out. My filter is mounted horizontally.
When you removed the filter was there any oil in it?
No! Filter was saturated with oil but none drained out when I unscrewed it. On my CRV, I usually slip a zip lock baggie over the filter to catch the several ounces of oil that normally drain out of the filter. I also have a plastic milk jug cut in half that I use to deflect the oil draining from the filter into the pan. I unscrewed the filter about 20 minutes after the engine was shut off and no oil drained out. The ADBV had definetly failed.
