CEL came on today, did the paper clip thing to read the codes, sensor is in the Quadrajet, carb is well over 15 yrs old so i'm thinking of having it rebuilt, TPS sensor can be replaced but tearing apart the top end of a Q jet gives me nightmares.

I've done it a few times and I've never fixed a problem by doing it :ROFLMAO: . I consider myself pretty good at rebuilding carbs but I won't touch a quadrajet again.

On our ancient farm trucks that had QJs I'd replace them with the cheapest Holley or Edelbrock I could find. I just looked and holy crap have basic carbs gotten expensive.

If it makes you feel any better, there are a lot less parts inside an electronic Quadrajet because of the electronic mixture control. I've got a 34 year old one (288K miles) that still has the original TPS. I believe there some sort of plug that must be removed to set/calibrate the replacement.

Be my luck I would drop one of those small screws in the engine. 🤬

Around the 28 minute mark, they cover code 21
I've got a few GM Books on E4ME Quadrajet and Computer Command Control
Needed it when getting to the bottom of the issues with my dads '83 Grand Prix
I can scan some stuff up if you give me your Carbs part #
That Classic G Body video is really all you'd need to know
There's several reputable Quadrajet specialist rebuilders, one did a very nice job on mine
What's the Year/Make/Model/Engine Code?
