I take pretty good mechanical care of cars, wash and wax not so much.
So I would like your advice on easy of use vs. protection quality of waxing methods.

I washed and waxed our Tesla this morning for the 1st time.
My tireless BIL gave me Griot's "Best in Show" spray wax for Christmas cuz he knows I hate this stuff.
Easy to use... But is it any good?

Here are some pics. My goal is to do 1 car a week to get them started, then maybe every couple of months?
Your thoughts? Thanks in advance.
And I am a lousy photographer...

Sorry, I don't like white cars; they seem so plain. But I like your reflection is the car emblem!

3 silver and 2 white.
The 4-4-2 is 2 tone blue with white top; the Vette is black.
I hope this helps...

I agree and they are everywhere now. Was at an intersection and stopped at the lights were 11 cars scattered around. Ten were white and then my light tundra frost Focus (a metallic green) the last one and it wasn't even snowing in Concord...CA.

As to waxing the three dailies that matter it is every 4 mos.

Nice Tesla & 68 Corvette. I wax mine at least every year. The clear coating on cars makes it so much easier to keep them looking good especially our
black Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I love a clean car, but I hate cleaning them. So far, my plan on the 300 is working great. Give it a good hand wash, then clay bar the entire thing, yes even the windows and mirrors. I originally tried the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax without doing a clay bar and it was okay, but a bit streaky.

I then washed, clay barred, and tried the Turtle Wax Seal & Shine. Way better IMO than the Meguiars, and still going absolutely great almost 6 months later. Still beads water like crazy, and dirt just seems to fall off of it.

These days the spray on sealants/ceramic waxes are so good that it's hard to justify a paste wax unless you have a show car. Or you want to justify the cost of the DA polisher you bought like me.

I'd wash the car carefully, claybar the car and then use the spray on sealant of your choice. I can vouch for the Optimum spray wax, but there must be a dozen or so competitors who can give you a consistent 2-3 month protection.

I have and like Best In Show SW. I use it as an extender, so can't speak to using it as an LSP.

It has surprising staying power for a spray wax, but I've already had better results using TW S&S. Trying it as my winter extender this year.

Had good luck with Meguiars Ultimate Fast Finish last winter, but prefer the gloss of S&S. We'll see how it holds up!

If you like Griots, check out their new Ceramic 3 in 1 Spray Wax. I've heard and read nothing but good things about it.

That's what I do. TWS&S works well for the price.

Being it takes a good day to detail your car, I try and "maintain" it daily, most just the interior and engine bay during winter. Makes a difference when you periodically clean it once a week or so.

I like my plain white 08 Malibu LTZ, especially in the summer months with triple digit heat.

They just released it a few weeks ago.

Any car I buy gets washed, Clayed, and ceramic coated right off the bat. Then waxed every quarter with a synthetic or hybrid wax. It keeps them looking good a long time with relatively little effort. 12 hours a year is NOTHING.

Just received their handbook # 476 with the new 3-1 Ceramic wax, looks promising.
