I was rotateing my tires the yesterday. I looked on the back if the rear drums to adjust the shoes but their was no adjustment opening in the backing plate. I noticed what appeared to be a slotted thumb screw on the face of the drum. So I tried removeing it. It is in fact a soft rubber plug. Once you remove it you simply rotate the opening to the 11 O'Clock postion and you can get to the star adjuster. I was able to use a short stuby flat tip to do it.
For those not familar with Toyota's they also include two holes on most of their drums to insert two bolts to press the drum off of the shoes by threading the bolts in with a rachet.
