This is a myth. Because hospitals take government subsidies they are legally required to tell you about your options sometimes they don't. "Hospitals rarely advertise options that reduce their revenue, but they are often required to offer, or will accept, alternatives to standard, high-interest payment plans. Beyond simple installment plans, these options include deep discounts, income-driven forgiveness, and specialized, zero-interest arrangements.".
I’d say grown up ⚓️ babies will agree …

Toyota bZ is now #3 US behind the Model Y and 3.
I just helped my neighbors get a gorgeous Lexus RZ 350e; it comes in in about a week. There is zero inventory around here; all are sold while in-transit.

FWD, 300 mile range. And it's a Lexus. The combo of NACS port (Tesla Supercharger network), decent range and $6 gas has changed the Lex (and Toyletta) EV business.
@JeffKeryk I just revisited the Bjørn Nyland 1000 km challenge video for the Toyota bZ4X. He was able to complete the run in 11:50 after a software update from Toyota. That being said the charge rate was still pretty slow. He needed the equivalent of 3.8 full 0-100 charge cycles to complete the trip but he broke that up into six more limited charges. Do you think it practical for me to make a 530 mile run to Maine in a Model 3 AWD Long Range with only two charging stops? Eventually I will rent one and figure this out for myself.

Why does Europe aleays seem light years ahead of the U.S in important things like protecting the Earth, people's wellbeing etc..?
Someone will cite freedom I'm sure. There's just a different focus in the US. I'm making a statement one way or another about it, but it's a different set of priorities.

The environment talk is crap. No one cares, it stifles industry, one of the few things making a 1st world society, 1st world. Look at Europe's energy prices.

Their social medicine works wonders when you pay like what, 60% taxes? I know people in countries, including one in EU, where socialized medicine didn't want to treat them. Too old? Nah, don't even wait in line, just die.

It's not the panacea Reddit makes it out to be.

I totally agree, this is their latest crowning achievement. They're super proud of it.

In what way? Investing the cash derived from selling a natural resource? Having a geography that allows for extensive hydropower? Extensive taxation? Policy that forces consumer choice? Higher cost of living?
The Norwegian trust fund (I don't know its actual name) contains more than $1T. It will be used to improve the the health of the country's residents, especially the elders. My wife and I were there last September. The cost of living isn't much different than that of many US cities. Now, it isn't cheap but healthcare and education are free for all citizens. Again, Norway is perenially one of the happiest countries in the world.

I am familiar with the Sovereign Wealth Fund (formally titled Government Pension Fund of Norway), that’s why I specifically mentioned it as one of the ways in which Norway differs.

Great idea - balance the Federal Budget, and invest the surplus from the sale of public mineral resources that will run out one day.

Creating it required a people whose will is practical and visionary as well as politicians who don’t succumb to the desire to enrich themselves by giving away the people’s money for short term electoral gains.

They aren't necessarily. Alot of it is media spin. If you want your country telling what to drive what to eat etc. There's alot they don't tell you.

Much of that “ahead” is eye wash. The US has far stricter emissions on diesel, for example.

Walk down any major European city Street, and you can smell the diesel smoke, you’re inhaling a great deal of small carbon particulates, which is really bad for your health.

So sure, they banned outdoor smoking, and then expose you to the equivalent of cigarette smoke from their traffic because of political pressure to keep diesels on the road.

It's funny you mentioned diesel smoke. The EU didn't require catalytic converters till 1993! While the USA had them starting January 1 1975.

This point hits even harder when you visit EU in winter. The snow banks on all roads are literally black from diesel soot.

My inlaw worked in Norway over 20 years ago and at that time a bottle of beer was about $15.......the majority of it being taxes.

It wasn't my intention to start another Norway thread. The market shares of brands and models are the interesting thing. Let's face it, have any of you ever seen a a Toyota brand EV?

The Bz finally had one good quarter so far in 2026 and pulled ahead of the Chevy Equinox EV by about 420 units for the first quarter of 2026. I think an important fact to know.

Chevy Equinox EV had a solid 2025 and took 3rd place easily by significant margins over all others. The Bz didnt even make the top 10 in 2025.

The 2026 Bz is a make over, over the past which was terrible. Range was significantly increased as well, sales jumped 79% from the paltry first quarter of 2025.

For clarity the post should state the Bz was #3 in the first quarter of 2026 USA sales.
Tesla had its weakest 1st quarter in a year. Also the widest gap in unsold cars in 4 years, over 50,000
IT will be an interesting year, over all USA EV sales are down 28%
I am surprised how Hyundai was lower on the list.

We will see what happens in 2026. But that is why you dont see many on the road. YET.

Shhhh ... no one wants to know about the socialism in Norway. They think everything is free. I posted on it already, Look up Norway income tax on their own income, never mind the VAT taxes and even gasoline at $9 a gallon. It's a utopia right?

The 2026 bZ/350e EV systems have been improved. The older systems were some of the worst EV technologies out there.

Your numbers continue to show Tesla's dominance.
Toyota has upped their game. GM sales numbers have helped their poor margins, but continue to lose $$ on their EV business.
