Noctilucent Clouds

For those of you who have never heard of noctilucent clouds - they are very, very high up in the atmosphere, around 50 miles up, typically, clouds are 10 miles and lower. They reflect sunlight over the horizon, so you see them lit up before sunrise. They are most common very far North, in the summer time. Photos shown were taken near Iceland.

Thanks for those clouds.

Once, on a flight home from Scandinavia, the pilot pointed out to a plane full of sleeping people the saw-toothed mountains of northern Greenland.
They resembled the minimalist background art from the old Krazy Kat panel cartoons (faithfully recreated for TV).
It was extremely cool to see them too.
