No shocking but some new EVs not reliable according to CU

Low reliability EVs in their first year according to consumer reports:

Chevrolet Bolt
VW id4
Hyundai Kona EV
Ford Mustang Mach-e
Ford f-150 lightning
Polestar 2

The upside except Polestar have real dealer networks to fix them.

I imagine they’ll sort them out . There are some reliable EVs out there including Nissan leaf, Kia EV6/Hyundai twin, Tesla models except X .

I'm not surprised, many of the issues with new cars regardless of them being ICE or EV are software related. It's just the nature of the beast and the systems involved. They will sort out the issues.

I'm throwing a flag on that play.

I don't see how they could even have sufficient data on a lightning to make the call, they have only been out 6 months...

New technology, sub-par materials and quality control some issues should be expected these days. Hopefully they fix them in a timely manner. And one can expect hefty repair bills once the warranty runs out.

They have data on problems reported on vehicles first year across 30+ years. They can attempt to make a call just as accurate as a weather forecast a week out.

Also issues with the number of people surveyed.
