Free shipping is now over unfortunately.

I am and have been in violation of Amsoil sales policy by publicly offering free shipping.

I must now discontinue this practice.

I guess it's considered "undercutting".

I mean I can see the reasoning, but the rope is getting shorter.

That's too bad. I am sure it was a complaint from another dealer. It is probably viewed as cutting into different dealers regions on this board.
If I ever wanted to run Amsoil I would use a site sponsor anyway. This is the politics of having to many dealers, the good ones are few and far between.

Amsoil is trying to level the playing field against some big time Amsoil Dealers that off a lot of free stuff. Some give away a free site, which is supposed to entice new dealers.

I've had an offer for a free website on my website for the last 5 years, and I don't think anyone has become one because of it. Now I can't advertise it as "free".

Paul, you can still give free shipping as long as it's not advertised as "free".

Like for instance, I have something for "free" as an Amsoil dealer on here but it's not advertised as such.

Those that want it must contact me for my BITOG discount, that way everthing is legal.

I read that between the lines, also. Contact me for shipping rates!!

It's very common to have a "advertised" price that cannot go below a preset minimum ..for everything. Jegs ..Summit ..you'll note that if you buy an identical item from each one ..that the costs is within pennies of each other. Any "special" is authorized from the producer. Then you will see all vendors offer the special. That's also why you'll see "CALL" noted on the internet or published advertisments. They can tell you it ..but they can't advertize it. I think that they can email you the price if requested (some sites do that). This in no way restricts the seller from discounting the products ..just the advertizing of the discount.

The only exception that I've ever found to this policy, trade wide, is BFG tires. You cannot buy a given size for less then their price. The dealer may offer you free mounting and balancing (or a brand new Towncar for that matter) ..but you'll pay the same (+/- a couple of $$), or higher, whether you buy it on the internet ..or down the street. My 33x9.50r15's have cost me the same $150 ($147.xx) each for the last 4 years at the local dealer. They're still that price the last time I checked on mail order
