Some of the donuts for AWD cars are full diameter, but stored uninflated - a small air compressor is also supplied which is used to inflate the donut if/when it is needed.

HTH

I stored the donut of my S2000 in garage since new, in place of it is a sub-woofer and 2 cans tire inflators.

We rarely had any flat around here, we had 1 flat out of 3-4 cars the last 15-20 years.

subaru has full size spare in Australia but you lose cargotray under the floor and the floor is raised so you lose cargo space as well.

Pablum.

IF the 'donut' is a MUCH smaller overall diameter than the stock set up (like mine was), and you have a clutch pack type limited slip diff (maybe even a worm gear/Torsen type as well?), you CAN hurt/quickly wear the diff with that combo on the rear axle.

He said NON-Drive wheels which covers that.

YES, I know.

I was addressing Jaraxle's "Pablum" response with my post.

1. Donuts are designed not to exceed 55mph.

2. No more than 50 miles to destination.

3. NEVER on the drive wheel.
