No heat after refilling cooling system

I didn't drive the car - just let it run in my driveway, but the temp came up to normal, but I got no heat with temp button turned to hot and the fan on. What's up with that? Is it a big bubble in the heater core area? I'm thinking it is.

I flushed my coolant all out and replaced it today. This is with my Sentra.

No I didn't. I installed a Prestone backflush kit a few days ago, then flushed it and installed Thermagasket solution and ran it for a few days.

Today I flushed that out and put AF solution back in it.

Can I bleed it by running it with the radiator cap off?

Yes but keep an eye on it cuz it will boil over. Sometimes i have to cycle the motor for a little bit to get the air out, while its running try reving the motor with quick revs and that should help clear the air.

If you installed the T from the Prestone Flush kit, they tell you in the instructions I think on how to bleed the system. IIRC you leave the cap off the T and add AF into the radiator until all the air comes out of the T. Its been about 10 years since I installed one but I do recall they gave instructions on how to fill and bleed the system back then. You can run the engine with the radiator cap off just be careful. HTH

There is most likely an air bubble in the heater core.

Don't let the engine overheat with the Rad Cap off.

There should be a bleeder on one of the heater hoses. It's just a plug with a hose clamp. Take the clamp and plug off and fill it untill coolant comes out of the plug.

Might have a bleeder screw somewhere too. Look for a bolt with a 10mm head and a copper washer under the head.

Point up as steep a hill as you can find then floor the gas for maximum rearward g's. If you hear a sloshing by your knees you shook that bubble loose.

If bleeding dont work, it is possible that that gasket maker may have plugged your heater core.

Try taking it around the block. It is common on these cars for the heat to disappear at idle with a headgasket problem.

My Mercury Cougar has a specific procedure printed in the owner's manual that must be followed to remove air from the cooling system.

Check your owner's manual to be sure you don't have one as well.

This happens all the time with drain/refills or parts replacement.
Let her cool down and suck back from the reservoir by herself - keep the reservoir 1/2 full. This normally fixes itself in a day or two.
It can take a few hot/cold cycles.
You can also try filling it better right now. Take the radiator cap of and raise the RPMs to 2-2500 or so. [With the engine warm/hot, of course, and the heater on full hot.] You will be able to fill it better. Put the cap on when it will take no more, and let off the gas.
