Nissan Titan oil question

Thicker oils mess with gas milage. I know this first hand since using Amsoil Series 3000 eventhough its a 5W30 its a thicker 5W30 thats why im going to start using their ASL or ATM to see if i can gain some gas milage back. Stick to what the manufacture recommends as far as weight goes and once breakin is done go with synthetic and dont look back.

Seems to be a bit of contention between the thin and thick, imagine that on BITOG! With the mileage that this rig gets I dont want to lessen it in any way so I think a 30wt will be the thing. The new SM Mobil 1 5w30 is like 11cst so that may be the thing or the 5w30 EP may be even better. I never would have thought that I would spend this much energy thinking about what oil to run. Man this is either fun or insanity, cant tell which!

Fellow 06 Nissan Titan owner here. I've used Mobil 1 Truck and SUV 5w30 API SM with very good results from what i've read on my used oil analysis sample at 11k miles on the engine. Yes, this engine is very hard on oil so i'd advice that a shorter oci should be used if doing alot of stop-n-go driving/short trips. I can't wait to post my results of my GC Green 0w30 at apprx. 21k miles! I'm apprx. now at 17.5K miles. Should be interesting to compare in a couple of months or so.
