Any opinions on Nikon software? I use the Microsoft XP camera software now. I just don't want to download the software if it's suckky.
Any free software you like?

I had the Kodak software on my computer before but just used the Microsoft XP camera software because they were conflicting with each other. I will be using my Kodak entry level camera at times.

I don't even use software.. I just always pull the pics off my camera and if I want them developed my wife uploads them to walgerens and has them printed there :)

I rarely if ever use software that comes with a camera. I use Adobe Photoshop Elements. Find photo software you like and just use that. I've never used any of the Nikon software even though I have a Nikon camera. I like the Adobe software and have just stuck with it. It does a great job of putting all my photos in time order regardless of where they are stored on my hard drive. I especially like the editing abilities it has. Of course it isn't free.

The best software I've ever seen is free: Google's Picasa. I would never install any software the camera maker tells me to, just get a card reader and let Picasa does it thing is a lot less headache and a lot better.

XP didn't natively honor the flag on my pictures that they were vertical, eg camera twisted 90' from normal. The Nikon software might. I wound up getting something called "rightsideup" that batch rotates.
