What is "mid year"? Looks 1950's?
To add a little to the above good information, the 1963 to 1967 Corvettes were used "Sting Ray" badging' 2 words. In '68, there was no such badging. In '69 and later the "Stingray" badging, 1 word, was used.
The red car is a 1967; you can tell by the Stinger hood and the side "gills", which was a 1 year only. In fact, the '67 is an interesting car because it was mostly debadged, leaving a cleaner look. It was a lower sales year, because buyers were waiting for the new car, based on the Mako Shark concept car. My car is a '68. The '67 is a highly sought after year; Chevrolet got that car right! Fit and finish, while these Vettes are not known for, was stellar. '67 and '68 engine options were the same, including the race ready L88 427.
There is so much more. A '68 L88 participated at LeMans in 1972. LeMans was invitation only; the Corvette team did not have an invitation for this car. The Chinetti Ferrari team had an extra invitation and offered it to the Corvettee team, with 1 stipulation: the car had to be painted red and wear the Prancing Horse. The racer was built from a wrecked 1968 Corvette convertible purchased for $600. It set a Corvette lap record, I believe, that stood for 2 decades.
