I like the segments where they take ordinary guys cars and let the owner go against the pro drivers in the owner's car for best lap times.

Here's a modified Skyline R34 being tested. Notice the drivers frequently hit 9k rpm even though redline is at 8k.

Did you see the Red Line oil sticker under the hood? The car puffed gray smoke when the second guy drove the car and I also saw a flame out the exhaust pipe.
