Nice interaction with Foxwell people while shopping for scanner

I was looking for a new scanner that would support my wife's 2021 Nissan Rogue for the electronic parking brake service. I won't bore you with the details but I tried and returned both a TopDon Artidiag 600S and a Autel MD806 PRO after finding they didn't work. The TopDon allowed me to spend 1 hour downloading all the updates, but the Autel wouldn't even let me get past the registration step.

So, 2 down, what next? I decided to ask Foxwell if they would direct me to the best scanner for Nissan compatibility, sent them email to their Amazonsupport@foxwell to see what they'd say? For comparison, I tried asking Autel for assistance with registration and got a response that was totally useless and off topic.

Next day I get a response from Foxwell that they know there is a problem with Nissan software and their 614 Elite scanner and ask that I wait to hear from them before I purchase. The representative was apologetic, but totally honest that there was no point to purchase until the tech department had tested the newest software update against Nissan vehicles. All I could ask for.

In the end I will do the 12V battery and 2 wires on the EPB connector method to retract the motor on the caliper and have this done without a scanner. Not as slick a method, but get r done.

Thought sharing my experiences would be useful for our tribe.

Always good to hear how a company is doing the right thing instead of just selling you something that may not function correctly. If it ties into your brakes then I can see why they're hesitant to do so.

I've been in scan tool limbo for the past few weeks
My Autel says it can't do it
My new Launch says it can "Start brake lining replacement"

This YouTuber seems to have had good luck with a Foxwell


My advice would be order it off Amazon, if it doesn't work just return it
I've been stuck a few times with "tool claims it can, didn't work" and the opposite "doesn't claim feature, works beautifully"
