NGK Iridium IX vs NGK Laser Platinum

I thought Iridium plugs were top of the line?
On Rockauto, the Laser Platinium plugs are more expensive...at least for my Pathfinder

Ir IX is good for 40K to 50K miles. Laser Pt is good for 80K to 100K miles

In that case, consider Denso Iridium TT, Denso Iridium Long Life, or NGK Ruthenium. If the job is difficult, you want a long-lasting iridium or ruthenium, so you won't have to do it again for a long time

Iridium IX lacks a platinum ground electrode hence it's short life.

Although iridium costs four times as much as platinum, I'm guessing they use more than four times as much platinum in platinum plugs.

I try to use Laser Unobtanium plugs in my really difficult applications. They have a lifespan measured in millennia.
