Hi There,
Long time lurker, first time poster.

I'm going to receicve a fully rebuilt ZF 4HP22 soon and I was wonderig whether to stick to dinosaur oil or something fully synthetic.
It seems that ZF no longer supports (if that is the right word) ZF TE-ML 11 and ZF TE-ML 14 is the new recommendation.

I see that Fucsh Titan ATF 1 and VALVOLINE HEAVY DUTY ATF PRO are fully synthetic ATF oils that were present in both recommended list.

I assume it'll be fine to use either instaed of a classical mineral based one like Castrol Transmax?

Thanks.

I sed the Valvoline Syngard for one truck for 230000 miles. Allison Duramax work truck. I see no advantage using something other that what they call for, unless you plan on extended intervals. ATF is not like engine oil, and trannies can be picky. Not worth trying something out in my opinion.

I believe it uses dexron 3 which isn't truly available but I believe tes 295 is the upgraded version of it which is the same viscosity but full synthetic. I hear you can use tes 668 but that's a bit thinner but not a lot.

Syn oil won't keep the low quality parts and design or manufacturing errors from happening.
Not sure what that means in the context of this post? It's basically a brand new gearbox.

Mobil 1 ATF was always an upgrade over Dex III …
Several sellers online …

Valvoline Maxlife is also a full synthetic and it lists TE-ML 14 as a recommendation.
