Newly rebuilt turbo from John Deere

Now it is three more days until we can get the machine back in the field. The corn rust is particularly bad this year, which weakens the stalks. Every day the corn is unharvested is a day the wind can blow and break off the stalks. The combine can't pick stalks up off the ground.
Don't they have a loaner, a used one you could use? Their mistake is costing you money. Unless they have insurance to cover your loss.

For a company like Jasper, that's to be expected. When you buy a reman right from Deere, you expect it to be quality.

@wwillson I wish I could say it was an outside occurrence, but we've seen the same lack of quality control at our dealership as well. A coworker of mine is on his 3rd attempt at getting a good engine for a skid steer, the first 2 engines were Deere remans and both had dead holes immediately on initial startup. We finally had to order a NEW replacement engine which seems to be fine, thankfully.

Honestly, no. It doesn't sound like Deere is much better than Jasper when it comes to quality.

What is the difference in two bad JD remanufactured engines and two bad remanufactured Jasper engines? Sure looks like four pieces of junk to me.

No, they really don't loan $350,000+ machines. Insurance won't cover wind loss in the fall.

I come from a city with one of the largest farming communities and one of the largest, if not the largest corn and soy processors in the world. We also have one of the largest JD dealers in the country close by, I’ve been acquainted with the owners and even had a great great aunt (maybe?? large family) who worked there for about 60 years. Farming never ceases to amaze me.

Thanks for sharing your combine journey with us. Hopefully you can get back and running soon. I would hope for better QC from JD.

Engine not hurt? Yeah it's Al but still, how did it all look inside with a bore scope? Any scoring at all someone needs to do something.
