Don't know why this wouldnt fit an 08... might have to get me one!

Pablo,

How does Amsoil determine which models get an EAA and which one don't? There isn't one available for the Corollas, yet it is one of the top selling cars of all time. Just curious why top selling cars don't deserve to get the EAA. I would buy one in a second for my Toyota if available.

They use sales figures of the Wix line among other things like cost to manufacture etc.

Often the sales are just not projected to be enough to justify. While maybe a lot of those models on out there, Amsoil does not see a market for their filters for those models. Traditionally buyers of those type cars are too frugal and will not pay a dime more that necessary to keep the car running.

You're right...probably not very many would buy them.

FWIW, a Wix 42188 (as pictured on Wix's site) doesn't come close to fitting an '06 Civic Si, but will work with a 2006 Acura RSX; the Si takes a flat panel, not a cylinder form factor. Just a guess, but since the range listed above is from 2002-2006, someone confused the '06 Civic Si with an RSX because they have very similar engines.

A Wix 49120 appears to be correct for the +2006 Civic Si, and a Wix 49065 appears to be correct for the 1.8L Civic trim levels.

Apparently the WIX book supplied to Amsoil has multiple errors - it sucks because Amsoil takes the WIX stuff as gospel. I spent 2+ days haggling over a Subaru application with almost the same exact scenario as you post with a Honda! Frustrating.

EDIT - You suceeded in confusing me.....see my next post....

Pablo, sorry about the quick edits! The more I started digging on the Wix site, I started to see what was probably going on. As long as Amsoil and Wix have the models sorted by their own respective part numbers, no worries.

Pablo, do you have an Amsoil EAA air filter part number for the 2006 Honda Civic Si? I'm surprised to find very few options, and the Amsoil Online Application Guide just shows the Wix 49120.

I noticed they have a number for the 03-04 mercury marauder. (not in this list, just looked it up)
Very good news as a MM air box is on the mod list for my car.
Also I would like to note in your app guide that EAA218, Wix 46814 is the right number for a 2004+ Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. The CVPIs use the marauder filter 2004 and up. The Civilian cars still use 46134/EAA49.

I don't think so - but I will check.

Yes the EAA218 was announced previously.
