New Zero Turn 60 to 72 " cut

Those for the Dixie Chopper is around $500.
The Scag Tiger Eye is around $350.
I've been in enough trouble today but I did look at DCs many times.. they come off to me as something done in one's basement.
Not really professional but many people like them.

This Exmark will amaze you on hills. 708 cc front steer and only a 50" deck. You will look like a loser driving it but hey it works 😃

I have banks that go down to the main highway and they are really too steep to walk.
I can take this and drive it down and up.
I've actually had men stop thinking I lost control and ran down the hill and when they see me run straight up they are amazed.
No way would I ever try that with a ZT and mine has radials...no way.

Regear that sucker for the lawn mower Nationals.

Just a data point, I have an Ariens Apex 60 inch zero turn. Has the Kawasaki engine and relatively heavy duty transaxles (ZT-3100). Been problem free for going on 6 years now, with about 80 hours per year mowing. Nice heavy 11 ga steel fabricated deck. It is the same as the lower level Gravely, just different color paint.

I was a commercial landscaper many years ago. Exmark and Scag cut the best. Kubota was OK, the powertrain was better than the deck but replacement parts are expensive. Toro just didn't hold up to abuse. John Deere was a good compromise, cut fine and held up well, you pay a lot for the name though. The 72" will dig in and scalp a lot more if you are cutting uneven terrain. Not sure if New Holland is still around but they were total garbage.

I like my Gravely. With that out of the way, I’ll list additional choices.
Scag
John Deere
Kubota
Ferris/Stihl
Toro
Kohler or Kawasaki engine.
What about bad Boy zero turns, or are they just rebadged? The Ventracs look awesome as they can mow steep grades and stay stable. They do look expensive but well built.

Country Clipper with the joystick steering!!! I went back to them after a John Deere and a Cub Cadet. Hated the John Deere and the Cub Cadet was falling apart. My only problem with Country Clipper is that the dealer is 85 miles away. But my first one had no problems.

I had a dealer just down the road but they didn't do so well. I did like them though.

One of the reasons I listed the brands I did is the parts availability and dealer network for them is also near the top. If you are spending the money on a good commercial mower, you don't want the parts to be unobtainium in 5 years. Common wear stuff like blades, belts, and engine parts will still be easy to find, but you don't want to be like one of my customers who is currently trying to scour eBay for a deck support bracket for an older one-off zero turn he can't find.

Scag turf tiger several engine options, 40 horse vanguard is top notch, Scag mower in the best made
Scags are expensive, but you do get what you pay for. My grandfather owns a 3-wheeler Scag that is 20+ years old. Still very easy to get parts for, not rusted out, and mows very well. I just re-powered it, as the 22hp Kohler had been run low on oil a few times over it's life, everything else is in great shape considering the abuse it takes.

Their "Advantage" velocity decks cut high grass really well.
