MCompact, any photos of that 1975 2002A of yours?

You're right, bimmers can be addictive. Really great drivers' cars and actually easy to maintain DIY. I started with an E46 and now restoring an E23. Been looking for an E24 635CSi but can't find one for a decent price in my part of the world.

I purchased an '02 530i with 93k from a neighbor last fall. What a great car, wow! He had the dealer do all oil changes and from the CarFax, it was done every 9-12 months anywhere from 7k-14k miles. It needed an oil change when I bought it so I put in 7 quarts of Valvoline HM Synthetic which it seemed to like. A look down the oil fill hole does show it be slightly sludged up, so I'm running a bottle of AutoRx through it right now. I need to run it another 1k miles and the do the rinse phase. I'll run either GC 0w30 or M1-Syn 10w30 HM once this is done, since I'm stocked up on both. I'll change it probably once a year, which will likely be 6-7k miles since it isn't driven Nov-March. Slightly off-topic: I had to put new tires on and went with the General Altimax HPs. Very happy with these!

I still regret selling my 1988 M6...

As for the 2002A, it's a work in progress, so be gentle:

Since these pictures were taken I've installed a MOMO Alpina steering wheel that I had lying around, and I also picked up some newly reupholstered 320iS Recaros- along with rear seat cushions upholstered to match. The old sled is a ball to drive. I wish it was a manual, but I can always swap in a five-speed if I get bored.

Cool 2002A! I'm a stickler for maintenance, so I hope our 530i will give us good service. Like I said, it's a blast to drive.
