I thought they had remedied the issue in recent years but need to do more research. Prefer a Mopar product but Wife does not like the Wagoneer.

Ok, owned several as have family/friends - and have tried to bring positive things to these discussions - but not in the mood for the howler monkeys that will take over this thread …
Nicely equipped Tahoes are closer to $80K.
We shopped the Tahoe/Suburban when we were looking for a car last year. Really nice. Driving experience was excellent - quiet, smooth ride. Nicely appointed inside. Tons of features.
But, and I mean this sincerely, they are a LOT of truck. The footprint is about that of my Tundra, and it can be a pain to park.
Has you wife owned/driven something that big before?
We ended up with the XC90, partly because my wife said, about the Tahoe/Suburban - “it’s too much like driving your truck”. And the three row XC90 is far easier to park, gets much better MPG, is super quiet, smooth on the road and gets far better MPG.

I’m quite serious. It’s a really nice vehicle, performs really well (go for the adjustable air suspension), is far easier to live with than a ginormous SUV, and is in your price range

She drives my Ram sometimes but definitely thinks it's large and not great to park. The largest vehicle She has owned was a 2010 4Runner. Would be a small learning curve.
Mazda sells some 3 row vehicles which outshine anything we offer so long as it is just a people hauler.
I've got a 3 row '20 Traverse AWD. Solid 3.6 engine, switchable AWD / FWD. Gets 26 mpg and is is not bad for a bigger SUV when in FWD.
Tons of space with the 3rd row folded down. 2nd row down it will haul stuff like a old school station wagon.

I don’t find a Tahoe as hard to drive as 4 door trucks (TR-4) - and I spend more time in a Jeep Wrangler …
If only you could drive just an engine.
