Even though still an ecore, E suffix gone from this application. Baseplate thread boss area looks odd. Perhaps camera angle. Be interesting to see if other ACDelco applications follow suit.

Ahh much better, now I can tell what's going on. Though some might consider it a nitpick, I will say that type protruding thread boss, not my favorite baseplate design. Have to see if other applications follow. So much for original ecore design idea of making installation easier. Thanks for follow up pics.
It's still an e-core, as I can see the nylon looking cage on the inside of the media. GM must still be buying filters from whatever the heck company now owns the old Champion Labs operation. I can't keep track.
Is the e-core plastic cage still exclusive to them or has any other filter outfits started doing the same?

I wonder if the offset is so that they can use smaller media from another filter to cut costs?
What offset are you referring to?
It has GM Genuine on the box followed by some printing in Swahili and Russian.
