Saw this at an Autozone. Guess this was made to compete with the Carquest Extended Performance or so. It was 11.99

Filter itself is powder coated and also has that nut on top of it. Lets hope that it doesn't suffer the same fate as k&n did.

Made in the USA. Surprising its a champ labs filter. Shocking. I thought they'd do PG since their factory closed down. Unless there's another USA oil filter company that isn't champ that's USA made.

Unfortunately the quality of the media itself is could say is eh. Its fully synthetic yes. But there's kinda glue on some areas and its not neat.

Full synthetic media. 99.5% efficiency at 25 microns. This feels like a rebrand of the fram endurance.

You guys think this thing is dead on arrival? Though I am curious about why they used champ labs.

Thank you for the cut and post, never seen this before. Interesting that it's champ labs so this will leave as soon as it came. Don't know any other US manufacturer so probably the last unless they figure out the fraud and restart production. Nice weld nut though.

Can you read the date coded on the dome? It was probably made before Champ Labs got shut down. The guts do look like a Fram Endurance, Royal Purple or Amsoil. I assume the media has a wire backing.

The drain back valve
That's the bypass valve ... integrated into the leaf spring. The orange silicone ADBV is shown in photo 5.

Playing around with the photo, this is the best I could get it. Can you read the first line which is the date code and time.

wow. I was just searching for info about this filter recently. Thank u for the post. This looks like the fram endurance. But not sure if they're gonna change design since champion labs is out of business.

Without a doubt Champ Labs made. Element does look a Fram Endurance with the CL made K&N dome nut. Yeah, not interested. Imo, PGI made STP XL (if one sold in local AZ) is the way to. Or based on recent WCW dissection for a 'basic' filter, the PGI made STP blue can, decent.

Thanks for the c&p.

The future supplier probably won't be in America. Auto Zone is getting some of their STP XL line from China, and some have the grippy coating like Fram to. First Brands was not a good company

AutoZone has had the STP XL for quite awhile. The Champ Labs STP in post 1 is a full synthetic filter and probably wire backed media like the Fram Endurance, Amsoil and Royal Purple with essentially the same media cartilage. Branded filters like STP can have different suppliers for their different filter models. Maybe STP will now go with the PGI full synthetic media (like the Carquest Extended full synthetic) to replace this Champ Labs full synthetic built filter.

That is a odd one. Too bad it was dead on arrival with the First Brands bankruptcy. 11.99 is decent pricing for what it is.

Took a look at these at AutoZone today. Looked at several different P/Ns. All appeared to be made by Champ Labs.
