New springs make trailer hitch height an issue

I'm sorry-I have extensive towing experience-I'm not debating this with you.
We can disagree and let the OP try to band aid what he has broken.

I didn't say it was optimal.

No different than having stock springs and airbags, or sumosprings, or any number of load supporting springs. They all up the spring rate.

Now, maybe has too much spring, that is certainly possible. Without knowing the spring rate it is hard to say. But you can't just wholesale dismiss it because you think they're too much. Maybe they are, or maybe it is another way to solve a perceived problem.

Either way, it is what he's done.

And there are other people walking the earth that can have more or the same experience as you.

The factory original springs in the truck would have been fine. If he added stronger springs, they could technically carry even more.

HUH?
The front of the truck needs to be within 2 inches of where it was PRIOR to connecting the WD hitch. Yes-the factory springs would have probably been OK. Those new springs will make a D hutch difficult-if not impossible to adjust correctly.

I have two tow trucks and a tow dolly so I tow pretty often. If he has stiffer rear springs the rear will drop less with the trailer connected and thus the front will raise less. I think the front of my tow trunk probably went up 5 inches in this tow and it has helper air springs.

That's a truck made for towing!

Was thinking a WD/AS hitch and stock springs. Put the car in the same spot and get the hitch set up correctly.
I agree. I think he jumped the gun a bit on the springs. I know Ram's are pretty softly sprung from Driving my friends 2018 Big Horn, but I would have done a few other things before I slapped a big set of springs under it.
