If you're at all a fan of cosmetic upgrades, a shiny (yet tasteful in design and size) set of chrome wheels would give that truck a huge boost. She's cute....she deserves some bling.

That's using dino. With synthetic oil it should last 400-500K.

Now, all you need is the 22" Spinnaz and you'll be all set.

Just got home today and the ASM was sitting on the side porch. Will probably do 1 year intervals 5K-8K miles after a 1500 break in run. The "factory fill" is long gone @ 28 miles, so if there was anything in it special, I guess I miss out; i had the dealer dump it. Since it is a 2006, the oil could have been in there for 18-20 months.

Since I am the king of cheap, I'm sorry there will be no cosmetic upgrades short of ripping the dealers name off the back. This is not my DD. I'd agree that a good set of rims would spice it up.

A few impressions: This has a 2.3 DOHC engine which replaced the Lima engine (i believe) In addition to having a "red zone" on the tachometer from 5K-7K RPM's, it should also have one from 0K-2K; don't bother running the engine in this range. Acceleration from below 2K is non-existent; quite a change moving out of a 300" I6. Quite sweet @ 2-3K RPMs.

Vehicle is rated 24/29 with the 5sp.

Drivetrain seems unrefined in comparison to my Toyota Echo.

I have basically the same truck with the same options. I get high 20s to low 30's usually. I picked up a nice set of aluminum wheels off of ebay for 40 bucks and it makes a world of difference. Great little trucks!

Yeah, low 30s highway MPG seems to be no problem with the Duratec 2.3. A lot of owners are reporting numbers that high, even though the EPA highway rating is around 28 MPG. It is a shame the EPA cannot be more accurate with their testing since being able to have a 30 on the window sticker would be good for Ford.

My old Lima 2.5 generally gets around 28 when cruising at 70-75. I might be able to break 30 if I slowed down a little, but the Duratec motors are definitely more efficient.
