Anyone been to New Orleans? Spent the last 4 days here with my wife who is on a business trip. I'm now in SE Texas visiting her family. Neat place. I'm having my fill of Catfish! I'm also enjoying the 70 degree weather.

I was there this time last year, and had a great time. Try to find the time to drive around, Avery Island was very interesting, so was the Barataria Preserve.

Lemme see, I gained 15 lbs in 2 months in New Orleans.....that kinda food and me are a dangerous combination....in a good kinda way!

I love the place, but I haven't been there since 1986 or so.

I want to go back.

I attended Tulane there for three years. I love the place. Great food, great people and wonderful weather. I'd live down there if given the chance.

New Orleans is awesome. Baton Rouge is cool too. Louisiana in general is great. It's a laid back enviornment. I love it here. Compared to Houston, I can actually relax.

I had a good time. I agree with everything you guys said. Those Beingnets are good too. Awesome weather although the summers I'm sure are tough with the humidity. I had my fill of Catfish.

Ended up going from NO to SE Texas to visit my wife's family. Noticed lots of Chevron gas stations. We don't have any of them here in NJ.

Left Houston today - 72F
Now 29F in Philly. Low of 13F.

On the news they thought a low of 55 was cold.

It's all relative....

thabx for all the nice comments guys. i live approx 45 miles from new orleans, it is a really great placto visit. i like taking my friends and family there when they visit. my wifes family are all from the washington area and they want to spend a couple days in new orleans when they visit once a year. louisiana truly is a great place in general, really laid back with tons of good food.

Welcome to the Big Easy!

Nawlins is one of the few genuinely unique cities in all of America. BUT, as is true of so many places, it's much more fun to visit than it is to live here. The locals like to say things like "We do things a little different 'round here."

My response: "Thank goodness. If people did 'things' like this everywhere, we would cease to exist as a nation."

Louisiana: Home of Louisiana Politics.

I've never been there myself. I wouldn't mind visiting but I would avoid that Mardi Gras mess. All those idiots getting drunk and acting like fools doesn't do anything for me. The history of the area seems to be rich though. Maybe someday.
