New old compressor

I love those old beasts. Have you run it? How does it sound?

I see the motor is 3450rpms, but the big diameter flywheel hopefully makes the compressor a nice slow thumper. For my backup machine, I've got a ~25y/old Central Pneumatic from Hazard Fraught Tools. One of the small/portable twin hotdog tank style with oiled compressor. It's rated at "2hp" and the motor spins at 1720rpm. It's not too bad to be around.

I know on my 26gal Kolbalt quiet tech, it's a twin cyl oil-less with thread on canister air filters. If you thread an air filter off on the fly it makes it seem 2x louder. I would have never thought the air cleaner had such an effect on these.

Yes, slowish and quiet. Nice slow thumper is accurate. Sounds great.

I’ve seen some oilless ones that are in the 50s-60s dB. Thats pretty quiet!

When it rains, it pours.

Same pump, 240 only motor, slightly larger tank.

Quality Solberg filter on it. Slightly newer than the other one.

The other one, the previous owner had adjusted it to only pump tp 50 psi. He rewired it for 120v, so had to keep the load down. I have the parts to put it back to 240, but it doesn’t have the original switch and pressure regulator. This one has all of the original controls.
