for the old SEARS Eager 1 with the Tecumseh 4 H.P. during oil change to PLATINUM 10w30 . This was a replacement for the original plastic oil plug since it's about 15 years old and getting stripped on the corners making it more difficult to remove . Did get it out and put the new black plastic oil plug from SEARS parts and when tighened the head snapped off letting the leftover oil leak out making a mess on the floor and the mower deck under and top of . Thus I had to tip it on its side to get access to the broken plug and when this was done it leaked more oil and what little gas that was in the tank

. So , more paper towels and glass cleaner were used to remove it . Finally the oil slowed done to a trickle so I could screw 2 sheet rock screws into it and use a pair of pliers to turn for removal . Put the original plug back in and filled with the oil . Called SEARS and gave me the credit for the plugs . The air filter got drenched in gasoline that seeped out through the carb . Can it be reused after it dries out ?

I have always used strait 30 and never once had a problem still have a snowblower imy parants got when i was a baby its a 1966 allis charmers briggs.... still runs new i converted it to electronic ignition and rebuilt the carb and thats it pennzoil 30 weight for over 30 years and it gets a workout the property is very large..

Well, for something that gets an oil change probably once a year, it sounds like he can spare 1 quart of good oil for it!

I know I can't.. I have a car that takes 4.5 quarts of oil, and I pool together all the half quarts of oil into a jug for my lawn equipment.

Its a mix of everything..

eh , it deserves it . Been through h#ll . Use it to clear the overgrown parts of property . It was less than $3.75 a quart as well . The PENNZOIL HD SAE 30 is over $3.50 a quart at many places .

use blend of other oils of different weight and conventional and synthetic too . It's an anniversary present
