New Mobil 1 Advanced Clean

I doubt he's going to be detailed enough to say, but it would be useful to know if this was the original formula or the recently reformulated version.
I didn't know there were two formations of the new Mobil Advanced Clean?
I'd imagine they'd want to start out with API SQ?

I’m really looking forward to the TEOST, PDSC, and shear stability test results of Valvoline Restore and Protect.
I really like how they tell us the HT/HS of each grade. But it would be better if they put it on their sell sheets too. 3.2 for a 30 grade not bad. I do wonder how well the shear stability is since it's not marketed as a long drain or extended drain oil. Usually, those oils seem to stand up better with higher miles on them as you well know.

Looking forward to it as well & thanks I didn't know about it.

Reactions: GW.
So far (1k miles) on the first run of Advanced Clean after a life of Supertech, my Odyssey is not showing any improvement in varnish from what’s visible under the oil fill cap.

Not anything scientific, just checking periodically out of curiosity. I’ll post before/after pics once I change the oil at 5k.

interesting. i could've sworn the bottle i bought last week said SP. maybe i got old stock.
Oldest bottle I have is January 2026 and its SQ. Considering it was just released in October? This is very probably the original formula. The reformulation happened mid-may.

Bottle say it cleans in one oil change, so at 1000 miles it should be 20% clean by now.

I’ve got Advanced Clean in my 320k mile Honda right now. I think it might be another interesting case, since this vehicle has had Supertech virtually all its life until this oil change. Will also cut and post filters from both the final Supertech run and the Mobil 1 Advanced Clean run.

Why do you say an "interesting case"?

I think yours might be a really good example to test M1 Advanced Clean since its whole history was Supertech.

Which Honda is it?
Which engine?
What is your OCIs?
Is there any oil consumption currently?
You can note any changes in engine noise, performance, fuel economy, etc before versus after M1 AC.

How many oil changes with M1 AC will you run?

If it's not too late, I'd cut open the oil filter from your last oil change with Supertech & note all observances like sludge, carbon deposits, etc.

I think you should start your own thread if you plan to do several OCIs with M1 AC & plan to keep a log/update BITOG.
Good luck on your M1 AC journey.

This is a 2003 Odyssey with the pre-VCM J35 engine. OCI since new was always right around 5k miles. Consumption is minor, less than a quart per 5k. I actually posted my most recent filter cut open:
