SDS is irrelevant. Nor would A PDS say much more than marketing jargon.Out of curiosity, I looked at the latest SDS for the Mobil 1 Extended Performance line and there is a November 2025 revision. So I'm wondering if they are going to keep it around as others have said. Weird....I'm very curious what the differences are between these two product lines.
This statement prompted me to look up how large Valvoline is. Aramco bought it for only $2.65 billion. I am shocked it's that small of a company. TIL.XOM could buy Valvoline 20 times over and not blink, they could easily have a similar product, not advertise its performance, and not give a care one way or the other.

thanks for the validation. This statement prompted me to look up how large Valvoline is. Aramco bought it for only $2.65 billion. I am shocked it's that small of a company. TIL.
Interestingly, ExxonMobil has $13.9 billion cash on hand. So, considering the financing that XOM has access to, and if you consider they could use stock to buy it too, your statement is not really an exaggeration. Just wild that XOM has more 5 times the 2023 value of Valvoline in spending money.
Because the EP should keep things clean as well and both are 20k. It's redundant. Most of the people said that Mobil will keep EP series, including me. Why would't they?
One oil is EP and the other Adv. Clean there is nothing similar between the two, except the 20K miles OCI claim. Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage also claims 20K miles, so who said it should be only one oil that has extended drain interval?
However, any oil knowledgable person would not drive more than 10K miles with all those oils.
Yeah I mean it looks like there was a revision therefore it's still going to be around. We'll see....SDS is irrelevant. Nor would A PDS say much more than marketing jargon.
IMO the real deal is the testimony of many folks here on the Valvoline Restore and Protect and its effects on engines.
XOM could buy Valvoline 20 times over and not blink, they could easily have a similar product, not advertise its performance, and not give a care one way or the other.
It would be weird to abruptly end EP; they could let both products share market space for now and see the response first. Remember how Annual Protection bombed? Better to dip the foot in the water first, and as has been described they have the money to spend and see how the product sells.Because the EP should keep things clean as well and both are 20k. It's redundant.
That says 10k miles so probably some generic AI.I just did a random google search and at the bottom where it says sponsored it showed this. So I think there is likely a website update soon.
When you click on it, it takes you to current page. Or this was some AI nonsense I'm looking at.

I am on the same boat.Every time this thread is brought back up, I rush to see the new container. When it doesn't appear, I feel a huge "L" on my forehead.
However, any oil knowledgable person would not drive more than 10K miles with all those oils.
Actually, any oil knowledgeable person would do used oil analysis and would likely find that they could go more than 10k in certain circumstances. A port injected naturally aspirated engine driven on long highway runs for instance (like my Civic)
It was only a matter of time, we all saw this coming.Prevents up to 100% of sludge…Almost seems like just a name change? Trying to ride on Valvoline Restore and Protect success?
