Im about to do the first service on my new electraglide twin cam 88. I've decided to run Amsoil MCV 20W50 in all three holes and change it
every 5k. My question is should I use the amsoil 134C oil filter or oem harley. Is the amsoil filter speced for the new 88 motor? Wix is also available to me, so any ideas are welcome.

Cut open a OEM Harley filter (chrome) for a guy at work.It was a well built but rather expensive filter. Can't say about the others..may-be a Harley chat line would be more informative

I would run the Harley filter. I have in all the ones I 've owned and they seem to work well.

I am using the S3 synthetic in the engine and chaincase but have found that 90 weight gear oil works better in the transmissions (Bel Ray is my favorite for this).

Best of luck.

I am running the MCV 20W50 in all 3 holes in my twin cam 88 and using the Amsoil filter. No problems to report, but I have heard the Harley filter is good too.
