New GM pickups in Canada

Do the 'power retractable assist steps' come on all of these?
Any reliability data on these retractable steps? (Hurray for car show options)

What's diesel going for in Canada.
Taxes vary by province, but in BC we pay the equivalent of $4.29 USD per US gallon. The actual sales are in $CDN per liter.

Our diesel is refined in Edmonton, pipelined to Calgary, then trucked four hours to Cranbrook.

BC is working on getting rid of the consumer based carbon tax.

I know when my elder brother bought an F150, the crew cab 6.5' bed ones were all made in the Michigan plant. So there might be a certain Silverado configuration made only in Canada?
I’m not thinking anything is different for the Canadian models except GM decided on which models to make where. The bang for the buck is pretty good to have at least some manufacturing in Canada, given the currency exchange.

Oshawa produces a very limited number of configurations of the HD trucks and IIRC none of the GMC's
The rest are built in Flint including the chassis cab 3500's

The retractable steps are an option on the Denali, SLT and AT-4 trims.
L5P 6.6L with the 10 speed in the HDs with all the emission equipment, maybe for the last year if the Transportation Freedom Act and CRAs go through.

The biggest and most profitable industry in Canada is taxation... :ROFLMAO:
Removing 'consumer' carbon tax will do nothing as mid and large sized companies will have to pay heavy carbon tax which will get passed on to consumer.
When one tax is eliminated, it’s replaced with a different one. The only solution is to reduce spending.
And we know that will never happen.

HD trucks are only made in Flint and Oshawa; Oshawa only builds Chevrolet.

LD trucks are Silao, Fort Wayne, and Oshawa. Silao builds Chevrolet and GMC crew cab trucks; Oshawa only builds Chevrolet crew cabs; Fort Wayne only assembles regular and extended cab
My 2024 crew cab LD 1500 Silverado was built at Ft. Wayne

Luxury tax is 20% on the portion over $100,000 of any vehicle, and the lux tax is taxed again with HST of 13% on the total cost of the vehicle including warranties, accessories, etc. Vehicles over 8485 lbs are exempt.
This is a very short summary of how it works.
I thought HD pickups were exempt from the “luxury” tax?
