I dropped by the GM dealer in town. They had this 3500 dually priced at $124 K CDN which is about 87 K USD. It’s vin started with the number 1 which indicates it was assembled in the USA, in this case Flint, Michigan. They also had pickups with vins starting with 3 which indicates final assembly in Mexico. I know that GM also assembles Silverado HD’s in Oshawa, Ontario and they would have a vin that starts with 2, but they didn’t happen to have any on the lot. I asked them if they are able to special order Canadian made trucks but they drew a blank. Oh well. Here are a couple shots of the Dually. Enjoy.

I know when my elder brother bought an F150, the crew cab 6.5' bed ones were all made in the Michigan plant. So there might be a certain Silverado configuration made only in Canada?

I take it that price doesn't include the luxury tax and sales tax ?

HD trucks are only made in Flint and Oshawa; Oshawa only builds Chevrolet.

LD trucks are Silao, Fort Wayne, and Oshawa. Silao builds Chevrolet and GMC crew cab trucks; Oshawa only builds Chevrolet crew cabs; Fort Wayne only assembles regular and extended cab

5 % GST (General sales tax, a federal tax) is applied along with a 7% PST ( Provincial sales tax) . It’s been a while so I don’t know about any Luxury Tax.
I believe the goofy luxury tax is still in play on any thing over $100k before taxes ?

Luxury tax is 20% on the portion over $100,000 of any vehicle, and the lux tax is taxed again with HST of 13% on the total cost of the vehicle including warranties, accessories, etc. Vehicles over 8485 lbs are exempt.
This is a very short summary of how it works.

That's a good deal assuming it's one of the good packages. They go for ~$20 a month.
Gross. $7/mo here and every channel I need. Vehicles used to come with complimentary SXM for a set period. The fact they’re charging up front and on the build sheet is hilariously sad.

They're charging 3 years of worthless sirus radio and a freaking AC fee? what a bunch of scammers.
Not for millennials.
You don’t have to take the Sirus radio subscription just because it’s on the window sticker.
The AC fee and tire levy are federal environment tax and disposal fees.
No luxury tax on 3500s.

New for 2025 are 235/80R18 tires.

Are the amber lights on the fender moldings a Canadian thing? I have never seen them on a truck in the US.
It's a current model GMC HD thing. My 2021 has them.

Avoiding tariffs or supporting Canada?

Avoiding tariffs or supporting Canada?
The two travel together. But, if the tariffs go on, things will grind to a halt. We can discuss it more when it happens. One thing for sure, most Canadians don’t care much where the trucks are assembled, but it the tariffs go on, the gloves come off. The rest is politics.

Do the 'power retractable assist steps' come on all of these?
Any reliability data on these retractable steps? (Hurray for car show options)

What's diesel going for in Canada.
