New ford 2.0L Ecoboost engine oil change capacity

In the future I'm going to change my own oil rather than have the dealer do it.The Ford 2.0L Ecoboost Engine has a refill capacity of 5.7qrts.Would putting 6qrts in hurt anything?Thanks Joe

I know people will freak out when I say this but since my wife never checks her oil I giver her 7 quarts instead of 6 when I do her oil change. No issues with her engine.

I always go 1/2 qt over. It's a habit from owning an LS1. The manual says to run it 1 qt over full for continuous hard driving or track use, so I always compromised with 1/2 over.

That is 2 mouthfuls of beer for some of us.

I put in 6 on my mom's 2.0L EcoBoost Fusion, no issues whatsoever.

I doubt it would hurt anything but I'd still try to get it as close to 5.7 quarts as you can. But if not, I understand just dumping in 6 quarts is easier.
