New Exmark Lazer Z HP

Just a little info note. I just purchased a new Lazer Z HP and it has a 21 HP Kawasaki twin on it. The interesting part is the Hydraulic system comes from the factory with Mobil 1 super syn 15w-50 oil. Looks like a little bit of the benefits of synthetics has made it into the minds of some tech folks. I know it didn't do much for the price being higher because it is right in the middle of the price range of all the other ZTR's. I found it interesting that the Dixie Chopper comes standard with an Amsoil bypass filter on it.

Once I put a few hours on the engine then synthetic will go in the engine. I should be good for 30 years or so. Heck my Cub Cadet 1250 Hydro is a 78 model and it is still running great also. These new mowers are far superior to the mowers of yesterday. But I guess that is suspected with the benefit of new technology. I cut my time on the lawn in half and it is fun to ride too.

My neighbor owns a commercial landscaping biz and has an Exmark Laser Z. Its a real nice piece. I can't believe those things will cut grass at almost 10MPH.

Well I have use this on the yard now three times and each time the grass was higher than normal due to all the rain. Let me tell you that it cut the grass like it was nothing and at full speed. I buzzed the yard in a hair over an hour, which it normally took me two on the cub cadet. The yard never looked better and my time with the trimmer has decreased also since now I can get closer to everything.

My wife thinks I'm crazy for wanting to mow now.

I'm sure it will wear off, yea right...

I ment to say in my first post it used Tri Synthetic. I was to excited about getting it and just put what came to mind.

I already added it to my excell spread sheet on lube quantities, types, lube points and filters. Makes going to the parts store easier with it all on paper.

A LAzer Z HP will actually mow at 11MPH an never miss a beat

The Mobil 1 15w50 has been the recommened hyd. fluid for a few years in commercial lawn equipment.

I have an Exmark Lazer-Z HP, 23 Kawi, 52" deck (w/mulch kit).

3rd season, 72 hours on the unit. I use 30W oil (the dipstick says to use 30W or 10w30).

The hydraulic system does use 15W-50 Mobil-1

Great mower, super fast.

I have a comm'l lawn and landscape business. I've bought 2 Lazer HP's. I now run all eXmark equipment. They are the best cutting mowers on the market. I've tested about all them.

I run all Opti-4 SAE 30 in the electric start motors and Opti-4 10w30 on pull start mowers.

Keep all the greese points lubed, air filter clean and blades balanced and the mower will last a lifetime on a homeowner's lawn.

The new cubs are not half the machine your 78 model was. I bought a brand new cub with mower, bagger, and snowblower. I used it for one year. The thing was always falling apart. I would lose a bolt here and there. Everytime I blew snow I would have to tighten this and that or replace a bolt because it fell out. The bagger impeller blades are plastic and shelled out after 2 leaf pick ups. I traded it in on a Toro 120 Grounds Master. I have been happy ever since.

A Lazer Z HP will actually mow at 9.5 MPH.

Rat407, at what hour are you going to synthetic and what synthetic are you going to use. I have always used M1 in the auto, bu tnever for a mower. Any problem with a hydraulic? thanks

Sorry for the late response. Busy with the family now that the warm weather is here. Currently in Ohio getting laser eye surgery thanks to the Air Force.

Will be nice to be able to wear a good pair of safety sun glasses.

I switched to AMSOIL 10w30 oil in the Kawasaki engine of my ExMark at the 25 hour mark. I added a squirt of LC also. As for the hydrostat drive. I'm not messing with it till the time comes according to the owners manual. It comes from the factory with Mobil 1 15w-50 in it. That works for me. I just installed the micro mulch kit and can't wait to see how well it works.

You can use Mobil 1 10w30 in the lawn mower. I use AMSOIL because it is what I run in my vehicles as well. It is in my pressure washer, Generator, 2cycles, and was going to switch out the differential oil in my daughters golf cart. I know, serious overkill but I have it so why not use it.

I also use FP. That stuff really ROCKS! Keeps the fuel fresh over the winter storage.
