new dryer in a tight laundry room

I have an old dryer with side exhaust. It goes right into the wall so the length of the exhaust pipe is about 1" or 2" long.

I bought an almost new dryer and its rear exhaust like most are these days.

The laundry room is very tight and the dryer needs to go as far back and to the right wall as possible.

There seem to be many unique dryer vent adapters on Amazon, and I wish I had a pile of them to try them and see which one will work best.

Suggestions?

I'm not sure what you are looking at, but you should be using a solid piece of metal pipe as the exhaust. Anything else is a fire hazard.

If you reduce flow of the exhaust then the dryer won't be as efficient and you'll be wasting money or possibly reducing the lifespan of your dryer.

Sounds like you want a dryer periscope vent. Looks something like this:

You ought to be able to cobble something together that will work. They sell extendable ones, extensions, and ones that go straight instead of turning.

I have a front loading LG set. The dryer can be configured for rear or side exhaust. I had no idea about that. Maybe yours can be changed too?

They also sell a rectangle, telescoping dryer vent for close quarters.....it has the usual 4" round connector that transitions to a rectangle approx 8" high by 2" or 3" wide by approx 36" long.....it adjusts in length by sliding one section into the other. Works great, is all metal, and only adds about 3" to the depth of the dryer.

It will be all metal, but as I said there are many vent options/adapters on Amazon.

I had seen that. I need mine to come out the rear, take a right towards the wall and then go through the wall. But I need it to allow me to push the washer back as far as I can.

Well, it seems that you only have 3 options:

1. See if the new dryer is convertible to side discharge (some are).

2. Use the rectangular telescoping one, but get one like this that transitions to round: 3 " clearance to wall.

3. Use an "insert" or "recessed dryer vent" if possible: goes between the studs.
