New CRV

I would do 6 months on a short-tripped DI turbo.
Wife does the same amount of driving in her 2016 Patriot and I did a 1 year OCI on Edge EP 5W-20…it did fine, but the oil looked like black garbage at the end. Going back to 6-month runs, summer and winter.

Let me rephrase. My 2016 crv with the 2.4 goes through oil like crazy. Always have to top off the oil between changes. No leaks

My 2016 CR-V EX with the 2.4 L gas na might use about 1/2 a quart top off per oc which is usually about 3,600 miles in about 10 months. I've been using PUP 0W-20 for the last 4 oc and it has 40,100 miles on it now.

I change when olm drops to 20%

Premium fuel will keep the head gasket from blowing, as well as keep fuel dilution in check. Don’t use 0w20, use Mobil 1 ESP 0w30 or 5w30, don’t go over 5,000 miles. Your engine will thank you. Former Honda tech.

You are still waiting because the original poster is a troll. The likelihood of the compla8nt being legitimate is pretty low.
Not a troll trust me I’ve just figured out what I’m going to do to fix the issue. Stop jumping to conclusions like a high school girl.

Sounds like short tripping use. I would do annual oil change services and enjoy your CR-V. They are great vehicles.
The Mity-Vac extractor works well on the 1.5, you could swap the filter every 2nd or 3rd service.
Where do you put the suction tube to use the vacuum?

My Mother in law has a 2018 CRV with the 1.5. It currently has 170k on it. Where she lives in the country she has atleast a 20 minute drive anywhere she goes that are 45-55 mph country roads.

Besides the few oil changes I’ve done to it, it gets oil changes done at the dealer. She generally does about 6-7k OCI’s.

Only times it’s ever been in for anything besides normal wear and maintenance is for the “reflash” Honda came out with when they knew there was a fuel dilution problem.

So I’m not sure within reason that there’s going to be any long term reliability issues.
