New Chinese Bus

Actually it's not a half bad idea. Might be a liability nightmare, but that's another story.

Then again they don't have 12 attorneys per person like the USA does either.

At the least they should separate the path for the buses' wheels from the regular traffic lanes. They are dealing with some of the worst drivers in the world in congested traffic.

I see them teaching their kind to drive here and it's a scary thought... Kinda like a photo-copy of a photo-copy. Not quite as sharp as the original.

It's more like a train with one wheel on a track either side of the road.

I love the idea in a steampunk zeppelin fashion.

China has to go through its own version of the 1965 Worlds Fair. We were promised flying cars and monorails ..trips to the moon

It's an innovative idea, but China doesn't really have the traffic system down pat. It's a smorgsbord of law defying drivers who will run through red lights. Most intersections from what I've read and seen on TV(history channel) are death traps. I have a feeling that bus is going to be a coffin.

I think it can work in certain areas. I don't see it in downtown Beijing or the major cities but smaller cities that have wider streets but no light rail system can make this work.

Considering the troubles we have in the US with cars blindly turning into the path of trolleys, even with their own right-of-way, this is a nightmare. Do you want to get clipped by a "bus" that rides on steel wheels and is big enough to carry 1200 people?

There is a not so subtle difference between innovate and hair brained. That concept is hair brained

I guess they can afford hair brained projects.

It won't be their money paying for it - it will be coming from us.

Lots of it.
