Finished by build today.. donated my old case psu and heatsink to a friend.

also if anyone is interested newegg started a corsair sale today.

most power supplies are 15% off and have a MIR also.

some of their cases are also on sale..

and if you are a member of fatwallet.. you can stack 2-4% cashback on top of any credit card rewards.

What I got... any opinions?

Corsair 650D case

The top is specially designed for the H100 with upto 4 fans.

Corsair AX650 80+gold power supply. -- this is also very efficient at the 60~~watts my system idles at.. my old PC power and cooling was only 60% eff. at idle load.(it hit 75% at 100watts and 83%@300w)

Corsair H100
new cooler.. was really unhappy with the bad finish on my hyper 212+(and poor performance) and didnt feel like taking it into work to C&C Mill it.

Price was 370$ after cashback and still have a 30$ mir on top of that.

deal included 2 email codes 2 different cashbacks and 2 mirs

final price if they actually send the MIR = about 340$

And a free hdmi cable.. for some reason they give you a free monster 4ft hdmi cable with the H100 cooler...

If you got poor performance from a Hyper 212 there was soemthing wrong with it, it is THE go to budget CPU cooler.
I have one on my i7 and the CPU runs luke warm even under full load. It is a great piece of hardware. Nonetheless, I have a TX750 Corsair PSU and the thing is a rock. 100% stability, no issues at all. I definitely like their PSU's.

Can't comment on the case, although I do like the looks of some of their cases. I have a Silverstone myself.

I know I've used about 5 of them now. I think they had a bad batch.. 2 of them (including this one) had terrible bottom finish they switched to a design where the heatpipes contact the chip and the heatpipes arent close to level with the surrounding metal.

My dad wire edm cut his flat.. I didnt feel like doing that or milling it.

Also dparm what makes you think its going to be loud..

my current setup has 5 120's and a 200mm fan.. they all run pretty silent.. with quiet fan on.
(on old build i manually set the voltage/power temp ranges)

it not really audible until I'm gaming and the gpu is still the loudest.

Its not something I would use for a htpc though for sure.

all fans will be on manual fan controller or hooked to motherboard for fan control. I expect it to be quiet but not silent.

the secret is using quiet fans like enermax magma 120's 70+cfm and 20db.

Don't believe the db numbers posted on any fan, for all you know they measure the noise from 10ft away....which is about the only way you can get a 120mm fan to blow 70cfm @ 20db.
If you are concerned with noise, stick with fans that are 1k rpm or lower in the 120mm size. Yate Loon low speed 120mm fans are a classic option that are very quiet, and very inexpensive.
For heatsink or radiator duty, Scythe Gentle Typhoon AP-13 or 14 fans work wonders (these are industrial grade fans made by Nidec, and rebranded for consumer sale by scythe).
There isn't a fan out there that can beat the CFM/noise ratio of Gentle Typhoons when forcing air through a dense heatsink or radiator. This is why on all the PC water cooling forums, these are the fans to get (also why they are forever sold out).
